Approximately 17.65 million Malaysians, or 58.7% of the population aged 18 and above, have updated their information with the central database hub (PADU), according to Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli.

Perlis has the highest registration rate at 66.9%, followed by Kelantan at 65.2%, Terengganu at 62.7%, and Pahang at 59.7%, according to FMT.

The states with the lowest registration rates are Selangor at 44.5%, Sarawak at 46.7%, and Kuala Lumpur at 47.6%.

Rafizi also mentioned that his ministry intends to propose a revised subsidy targeting plan to the Cabinet within this month. He stated that any government announcements on this subject will be made in due time.

With the PADU registration deadline passed, Rafizi noted that existing administrative data will be utilised to assess subsidy qualifications for those who did not register.

He added that if it becomes necessary, the ministry may reopen PADU registration briefly to aid in registration and updates, following the government’s decision on the structure and mechanism of the targeted subsidies.

You can update your information even after registration is closed

Chief Statistician Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin stated that individuals who have registered are still able to update any incomplete information, despite the registration deadline has passed.

“What we close is for those who did not register at all (with PADU) between the period of 2 January and 31 March,” he said.
