Malaysia is ranked third in Asean and 15th in the world based on the Information and Communication Technology Development Index 2023 (IDI 2023).
This placed Malaysia in a class of its own for telecommunications development on the global stage according to Communications Minister, Fahmi Fadzil.
Malaysia achieved a score of 94.5 out of a total of 100 points in the report published by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), surpassing the global average score of 72.8 points, based on reports from Berita Harian.
This is a good result which shows that we are not only on the right track, but the performance is quite good for Malaysia.

100% 4G next Coverage challenge for Malaysia
The next challenge for Malaysia over the next few years is to achieve 100 percent 4G coverage, though it involves many technical, technological, geographical, and management issues at the local authority (PBT) level, according to Fahmi.
After several discussions were held and we reached an agreement at the ministerial level whether it was the Menteri Besar, the Chief Minister and even reached the PBT level, I believe that many issues can be managed well.
