Fahmi Fadzil, the Communications and Digital Minister just announced on X that they are introducing a new postpaid plan called the “5G Rahmah Package”.
The 5G plan comes with 60GB of 5G data for RM60 per month. Fahmi also added that the plan comes with a 5G smartphone for as low as RM240.
Other than that, he said that for the first 100,000 buyers in the B40 category, they will also receive a 5G smartphone at a discounted price of as low as RM120.
According to his post on Facebook, the two smartphones are, the Samsung A14 5G (RM949) and the Honor 90 Lite 5G (RM1,099).
The Minister also mentioned that all Malaysians can subscribe to the postpaid plan, unlike the previously introduced prepaid Unity Package plan.
Malaysians can start subscribing to this postpaid plan from 31 August 2023 onwards and it comes with a two-year contract. The plan also comes with a two-year warranty for the smartphone.
Furthermore, Fahmi stated that the civil servants will be getting a RM10 rebate per month for any postpaid plans that they are subscribing to for 12 months, which will also begin on 31 August 2023.
At the time of writing, there’s been no announcement from any telcos regarding this postpaid plan.
