Previously, we reported that Asus is launching their own portable gaming PC to challenge the current king of handheld gaming PCs, the Steam Deck. At that time, Asus didn’t provide much information about the ROG Ally, but we finally have more info thanks to a leaker.

In a now deleted tweet, user papayatop shared the leaked specification of Asus ROG Ally. Luckily another Twitter user, Hifihedgehog, managed to take a screenshot before the tweet was removed.

According to the leaked specification, the ROG Ally will be powered by a custom AMD Ryzen Z1 processor. The Ryzen Z1 is rumoured to be a custom Ryzen 7 7840U. Besides that, the handheld gaming PC will come with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of NVMe SSD storage plus a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion.

It has a 7-inch 16:9 display with Full HD resolution, 500 nits of brightness, and a 120HZ refresh rate. The screen is most likely going to be an IPS LCD. It also weighs 608g, which is much lighter than the Steam Deck (669g).

Other than that, it’s running Windows 11 with Asus Armoury Crate SE software on top of it, along with support for Xbox Game Pass, Steam, the Epic Games Store, and EA Play.

Papayatop also revealed the alleged pricing for the ROG Ally. In the deleted tweet, the leaker mentioned that the handheld gaming PC is going to cost around THB30,000 (approx. RM3,859).

As of now, this is all unconfirmed, so don’t take it too seriously, but we won’t have to wait long to find out the answer though because Asus said the release is going happen “sooner than you expect.”
