If you are up-to-date with the latest tech news, you must have heard of ChatGPT, the current king of artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot. ChatGPT is a large language model developed by OpenAI. It’s capable of generating human-like responses to text-based queries, making it a powerful tool for natural language processing tasks.
Microsoft has invested USD10 billion (RM44.02 billion) into OpenAI and recently, they have integrated the chatbot into Bing, Edge browser, and Microsoft Office apps. Now, they are putting the chatbot into SwiftKey, a popular keyboard app for Android and iOS.
The Verge reports that Microsoft has recently integrated Bing Chat AI into the widely-used SwiftKey keyboard for Android, allowing users to access the chatbot quickly with just a tap of a button from within any app.
The integration, which became available a few days ago, offers two modes of chat: the traditional chat mode that grants access to the chatbot, and a tone mode that can rewrite any text directly within the keyboard.
This new feature is only available for the beta version of SwiftKey from the Google Play Store. According to Pedram Rezaei, Microsoft’s CTO of mobile and commerce, the integration is gradually being rolled out.
It’s uncertain when the feature will be available for SwiftKey iOS users, but we guess iPhone users won’t have to wait long for that because there are already a number of AI-powered keyboards on iOS that include ChatGPT integration. If Microsoft wants to seize the opportunity, they will have to make the feature available for iOS soon.
