The LEGO Group and Hasbro, Inc. have combined forces to create the leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime, in brick form.

In a miraculous feat of engineering, they also managed to make this face grilled, windshield pecked, and intake grill abbed 80s icon, transform into its iconic truck mode.

According to LEGO, 10302 LEGO Optimus Prime has 1,508 pieces and once completed it stands at 35cm or 13.5in tall in robot form.

In addition to Optimus Prime itself, the set also includes builds for the matrix of leadership, an Energon cube, Energon-axe, ion cannon, and backpack.

The set also comes with an alternate LEGO tile for the bumper to make Optimus Prime look more accurate in robot form and a nameplate.

In truck mode, Optimus Prime measures 15cm high, 10.5cm long, and 12cm wide.

The 10302 LEGO Optimus Prime is set to release globally on 1 June for 169.99USD. Although there is no official pricing for the Malaysian market yet, we expect the set to be priced at around RM795.

However, this is not the first time Optimus Prime has been translated into brick form. There have been several unlicensed third party brick build sets of this Transformer in the market. Hasbro has even made officially licensed ones under the brand Kre-O, its own LEGO competitor, previously.
