In a significant move to enhance its retail experience, local wholesaler and retailer Mydin has introduced MydinPay, its very own e-wallet service.

The app, which is available for download on both iOS and Android devices, is designed to streamline shopping experiences and boost convenience for its customers.

MydinPay supports DuitNow QR payments and features real-time transaction displays, providing a seamless and efficient payment process.

According to The Star, Mydin’s Managing Director, Datuk Ameer Ali Mydin, mentioned that the launch of the app was aimed at maintaining competitiveness and agility in the technological realm and allows the retailer to focus on promotions, rewards, coupons, and rebates tailored to Mydin’s business format.

Recognising the diversity in technology adoption among Malaysians, Ameer highlighted that MydinPay is designed with inclusivity in mind.

He added that Mydin serves those who are less familiar with technology, and MydinPay is expected to encourage more Malaysians to embrace cashless payments and integrate technology into their daily lives.

In addition to processing payments, the app provides a diverse range of services such as booking hotels and flights, and managing parking, telecommunications, utility bills, and municipal charges.

To kickstart the adoption of MydinPay, the company is offering some incentives. The first 1,000 users who register for the e-wallet will receive a RM5 voucher.

Additionally, the first 3,000 customers who spend RM150 or more using MydinPay will be eligible for a 5% cashback on their purchases.
