Beginning April 2024, the Kuantan City Council is set to implement a fully digital parking payment system, bringing an end to the long-standing practice of using scratch-and-display parking coupons.

Norkamawati Kamal, the head of its corporate and public communications section, announced that the use of scratch cards for parking coupons will cease on 31 March, according to NST.

According to Norkamawati, motorists can transition to the new system by downloading the Pahang Go mobile application to facilitate online payments. The app is available on Google Play Store, and App Store.

The app will notify users just before their parking time expires, allowing them to extend their parking duration by making the necessary online payments.

For those without smartphones or parking applications, alternative payment options are available at autopay parking terminals. These terminals, identifiable by their blue colour, are conveniently located throughout the state capital. Drivers can input their vehicle registration details at these terminals to make payments.

Initially scheduled to launch on 1 January, the digital parking system experienced a delay to accommodate individuals who had previously obtained scratch-and-display parking coupons.

The grace period allows them to use their existing coupons until 31 March before the full transition to the digital system takes effect.
