Tesla has denied social media claims saying that orders for the newly launched Model Y have reached 10,000 units, saying it’s fake news.

Tesla’s Regional Director Isabel Fan was quoted by Berita Harian saying that it was fake news created by another party and not an official Tesla statement.

It is reported that the misinformation went viral on social media, which claims that 10,000 bookings have already been made a few days after it was open to the public.

Actual order numbers will remain undisclosed, but Tesla assures the public that interest in the Model Y is strong. We appreciate the support from the growing customer community in Malaysia.
