According to Snapdragon India Twitter account, we know the Poco F5 will be using the new Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chip.
GSMArena reports that the Poco F5 is likely going to be a rebranded Redmi Note 12 Turbo, while the Poco F5 Pro is going to be rebadged of Redmi K60, powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.
A Twitter user, @Sudhanshu1414 has his hands on the phones before the official release and confirmed that the report above is true.
The Poco F5 and Pro variant will have the same 10-bit 6.67-inch OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, supports HDR10+, and Dolby Vision. But the Poco F5 has a lower resolution of 1080 x 2400 and lower peak brightness at 1,000 nits. While the Pro version has a higher resolution of 1440 x 3200 and higher peak brightness at 1,400 nits.
Both phones support up to 16GB of RAM, but the Poco F5 can go up 1TB for storage, while the Pro model can only go up to 512GB of storage. Both are using UFS 3.1 storage.
Also, both phones have similar triple-camera setup: a 64MP main camera with OIS, a 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro. They also shared the same selfie camera, a 16MP sensor.
The Poco F5 has a smaller 5,000mAh battery that support 67W wired fast-charging, while the Pro variant has a slightly bigger 5,160mAh battery that can also do 67W wired plus 30W wireless fast-charging.
As for the launch date, Poco tweeted yesterday that they will launch the Poco F5 Series on 9 May 2023.
