Apple’s controversial Polishing Cloth, which went on sale here for RM99, sold out in mere hours. Granted, it is ridiculous purchase to begin with but I wanted one, if just for the ecosystem.
Those who did manage to buy one will get their cloth between two and three months, with customers ordering now expected to receive the item between December 20, 2021 and January 17, 2022.
Apple might be overwhelmed with the sheer number of orders or they did not make that many in the first place and now have to catch up to the demand.
In any case, anyone that ordered one will have to be patient even if your Mac, Apple Watch and iPhone displays are dirty and in need of a cleaning.
Here’s a hot tip: You can actually use cheaper and high quality microfiber cloths like the ones digitaltrends have in their line up to clean your Apple devices.
In the question of the cloth size, Apple has yet to release the specifications for the product as of writing this piece. Some suggestions is that it is the same cloth that is shipped with Apple’s Pro Display XDR.
If it happens to be true it is a decent 7×7 inches, according to TechTuber Marques Brownlee (MKBHD), who also said the cloth is really thick.
The Polishing Cloth, as Apple calls it, isn’t even the cheapest item in their line up of accessories. It shares the same price as Lightning to 3.55mm headphone jack adapter and the USB-C to 3.55mm headphone jack adapter.
