First launched in Hong Kong back in 2018, Flow came to Malaysia earlier this year as a day stay hotel booking app.

With the app, users can book a day stay in a hotel room and have access to all of its facilities too.

The function and the idea of the app seem simple, but it also has a lot of potential uses. So we decided to test it out.

At A Moment’s Notice

Booking a hotel room on the Flow app is surprisingly easy. There are no unwelcomed ads or perilous fine prints.

After the initial registration process, booking a room is as simple as tapping Book Now.

We find it useful that we could book a hotel on the same day. That means we could get a hotel room to rest, refresh, or even do some work, at a moment’s notice.

However, getting the hotel you want can be a bit tricky.

The app only lets you search by location while the list can only be sorted by price, ranking, earliest availability and location.

We were looking for a hotel room with a tub – an uncommon feature – and that means tapping on each hotel option to see its handy list of amenities.

So it can be tedious to look for that perfect stay if your criteria are not just price and location.

We ended up booking a day stay at Pullman KL.

The Convenience Of It All

We picked Pullman KL not only because the room that it offers has a tub, but also because of its location. It is just a walking distance from Pavilion KL.

We booked a room for a six-and-a-half-hour stay, which means we have a room from 4 pm to 11:30 pm.

Booking a hotel on Flow gave us the option to pay on the app and the ability to cancel the room before the allocated time. We were also given the option to check-in at any time between 4 pm and 10 pm.

The check-in process was simple. Because we did everything on the app, including paying for the room, all we had to do was show our booking number at the front desk, provide our contact information, and we got our room.

A Bit About The Room

The only room available when we booked our room at Pullman KL was a Deluxe Room Twin. It is 377 square feet of space to work, relax, and escape from it all.

Of course, there’s also free wifi and a bathtub.

Check out was as simple as handing over the key cards back, we even got our parking validated because we were considered guests.

Who Is It For?

Theoretically, the Flow app is versatile and useful.

It is undeniable how useful it is to be able to get a private and quiet room for a few hours while in the city.

For someone who is taking a day trip to the city or just looking for a short staycation, Flow is the perfect app to have handy.

We especially love how Flow could be used in emergencies. We can imagine how it could be a lifesaver for a family on a trip to a city with a cranky kid who needs a nap, or the professional who suddenly needs a quiet and private space to set up for a video call.

Flow could even be used to get room to freshen up between meetings and assignments.

It’s not a subscription and is free to have on your device. So why not have it handy.

Flow is available on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and online.
