Google has introduced its 10th generation of Pixel smartphones — Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL — marking the biggest refresh yet in the series with a sleeker design, upgraded hardware and new AI-driven features.
Design And Build
The new models refine the signature camera bar, introduce Pixelsnap for built-in Qi2 wireless charging and support new magnetic accessories. Google says the devices are also made with the highest proportion of recycled materials used in a Pixel to date.
All three phones will be the first to showcase Material 3 Expressive, the latest interface designed for more fluid, personalised use with smoother animations. Owners will also benefit from seven years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates.
The Pixel 10 features a satin-finish aluminium frame, a polished glass back and four colour options — Obsidian, Frost, Indigo and Lemongrass. Its 6.3-inch Actua display reaches up to 3000 nits brightness for easier outdoor viewing, complemented by upgraded speakers with stronger bass.
Camera Upgrades
For the first time, the standard Pixel 10 includes a 5x telephoto lens with fast autofocus, 10x optical quality zoom and up to 20x with Super Res Zoom.
The Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL raise the bar further with a triple-lens camera system and a new imaging feature called Pro Res Zoom, capable of reaching up to 100x zoom. Unlike a simple crop, Pro Res Zoom relies on Google’s Tensor G5 chip and a generative AI imaging model to enhance fine detail — making it the most advanced zoom ever on a Pixel device.
In addition, the Camera Coach tool uses AI to suggest improvements in composition and framing, offering guidance to those learning photography.
Hardware And Performance
At the core of the Pixel 10 series is the Tensor G5 chip, Google’s most powerful processor yet, developed in collaboration with Google DeepMind. It enables faster performance and runs the latest Gemini Nano model on-device for new AI experiences.
Among these is Magic Cue, an assistant woven across apps like Google Messages and Phone. It proactively brings up relevant information, such as displaying flight details when speaking with an airline, or surfacing the right photo to share during a chat — all processed privately on-device.
The Pro models also carry Google’s largest Pixel batteries to date, 16GB RAM, faster wired charging, upgraded speakers, and support for 25W Qi2.2 wireless charging on the Pixel 10 Pro XL.
Availability And Pricing
Pre-orders for the Pixel 10 series opened on 21 August, with prices starting at RM3,999 for Pixel 10, RM4,999 for Pixel 10 Pro and RM5,999 for Pixel 10 Pro XL. All models will be available from 28 August via the Google Store and authorised retailers. Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL buyers will also receive a year of Google AI Pro.
