Sonos Releases Two New Smart Speakers, Era 300 And Era 100, Starting From RM1,599

Sonos debuts its new Sonos Era 300 and Sonos Era 100 smart speakers, opening a new chapter for sound and design innovation for the American audio systems company.

The Era 300 boasts six powerful drivers that direct sound left, right, forward and upward and support Spatial Audio together with Dolby Atmos. It has six class-D digital amplifiers, four tweeters, and two woofers.

This is the brand’s first speaker that delivers multi-channel surround sound when used as home cinema rears. You can pair two speakers with Arc or Beam (Gen 2) to create cinema experience at your home.

The Era 100 is a sequel to the company’s best-selling Sonos One. This speaker has two angled tweeters and one midwoofer, powered by three class-D digital amplifiers. But it doesn’t support Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos.

You can also get another Era 100 to become rears with your soundbar to create a surround sound or pair two speakers together for a more immersive stereo sound.

The speakers are made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic and engineered to reduce power consumption under two watts while idle and a new sleep function. It’s also built for easy disassembly and repair.

You can stream music and audio to the speaker via WiFi 6 or Bluetooth 5.0 and directly connect other audio devices using USB-C or Sonos Line-In Adapter. You can also control the speakers via voice and there’s a toggle that allows you to disable the mic if you want to.

Pricing and Availability

The Era 300 and Era 100 are only available in two colours: Matte Black and Matte White.
