This Hong Kong-based company is a relatively young smartphone brand in Malaysia; many people may not have heard of Infinix, but the company is striving to bring affordable smartphones to the masses.
Yesterday, Infinix Malaysia launched the Infinix HOT 20 and Infinix HOT 20i smartphones here. Both phones are running XOS 12 which is based on Android 12.
The HOT 20 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85, a 12nm octa-core CPU. The phone has 6GB of RAM that can be extended to 11GB via Extended RAM technology and 128GB of storage (expandable up to 1TB via microSD).
It has a 6.82-inch IPS display with a resolution of 720 x 1640, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a 180Hz touch sampling rate.
The phone is fed by a big 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W charging and it comes with an 18W charger.
On the back of the phone, there’s a 50MP main camera and a QVGA camera. Also, there’s an 8MP selfie camera that sits within the display punch hole.
In addition, there’s a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers that support DTS Stereo Surround Sound, Bluetooth 5.0, a USB-C port, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The Infinix HOT 20i is packing MediaTek Helio G25, a 12nm octa-core processor with 4GB of RAM (up to 7GB with Extended RAM) and 128GB of storage that can be expanded up to 512GB via microSD.
This phone has a smaller 6.6-inch IPS display with a resolution of 720 x 1612. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and it can do 5W reverse charging.
There’s a 13MP main camera on the back and two QVGA sensors. On the notch of the display, there’s an 8MP selfie camera.
Also, there’s a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, a mono speaker, a microUSB port, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Pricing and Availability
The Infinix HOT 20 is available in four colours: Sonic Black, Legend White, Tempo Blue, and Fantasy Purple. The phone is priced at RM599.
The Infinix HOT 20i is available in four colours as well: Wilderness Black, Luna Blue, Energy Green, and Sunset Gold. The phone retails at RM499.
