Xiaomi, one of the biggest smartphone brands in the world, will be unveiling its latest Redmi Note 12 series phones later today at 7pm Malaysia time.

Technave reported that on the Redmi official Weibo account, the company shared a poster revealing that the Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition can do 210W fast-charging, thereby making it the world’s fastest charging speed on a smartphone.

The phone has dethroned the iQOO 10 Pro, which previously held the record with its 200W fast-charging. OPPO has announced an even faster charging speed with the 240W SuperVOOC, during the Mobile World Congress 2022 in February 2022 but so far, none of the OPPO phones are using that.

Only the Redmi 12 Note Explorer Edition will be getting the 210W charging according to NotebookCheck’s report. The phone can recharge its 4,300mAh battery from 0 to 100% in just nine minutes.

A Twitter user, @miupdateph, has leaked the specs of all the phones.

The two other Redmi Note 12 models, 12 Pro and 12 Pro Plus can only do 67W and 120W respectively.

The latest 200 MP camera sensor, ISOCELL HPX, is not available in the Redmi Note 12 Pro. The Sony IMX766 serves as the phone’s 50 MP main camera instead. The leaked spec sheets also didn’t mention what processor these phones will be using.

All of the models appear to use identical 6.67-inch OLED screens with a resolution of 2400×1080 and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. All of the phones also include UFS 2.2 flash storage and LPDDR4X RAM and no model supports more than 256GB of storage or 12GB of RAM. There is just 8 GB of RAM available for the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus, 4GB less than its brethren. Despite the release of Android 13, these phones will still be rocking Android 12 (MIUI 13).

At the time of writing, it seems Xiaomi will only be launching these phones in China. Global availability is still unknown, same goes for the pricing.
