In case you are not up-to-date with smartphone news, this 12T series is not the follow-up to the Xiaomi 12 series released back in March 2022 in Malaysia. The company released the 12S series in July 2022, but it was limited to China only. The 12T series is meant to be cheaper but still packs some flagship features and specs.

Let us start with the most powerful of the 12T lineup, the Xiaomi 12T Pro. This phone is packing Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, with support for up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage (no microSD support here).

For display, it has a 6.67-inch AMOLED with a resolution of 2712×1220 (446 ppi), an aspect ratio of 20:9, with support for a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is using a 12-bit panel that supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. The display can output 500 nits typical brightness (up to 900 nits) and it is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

To keep this powerful phone running, there’s a big 5,000mAh battery with support for 120W fast-charging and it comes with a charger in the box. Xiaomi said the phone could be charged to 100% in as quickly as 19 minutes, and ready for up to 13.5 hours of screen-on time.

On the back, you can find the usual triple-camera setup but the 12T Pro is packing an impressive 200MP OIS camera, using a Samsung ISOCELL HP1 1/1.22” sensor, capable of shooting 8K video and has advanced features like eye-tracking and motion-tracking autofocus.

The other two cameras, aren’t so impressive. There is an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro. On the front, there’s a 20MP selfie camera.

There’s an in-screen fingerprint sensor, and stereo speakers tuned by Harman Kardon with support for Dolby Atmos. Also, the phone has NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi 6 and a dual SIM with 5G connectivity.

Next up is the Xiaomi 12T. On the outside, this phone looks exactly the same as 12T Pro, but on the inside, the 12T is packing MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Ultra with support for 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage (no expandable storage here as well).

It share the same display as 12T Pro but no Dolby Vision. Everything else is the same as 12T Pro but this phone has a 108MP OIS camera instead. This camera is using Samsung ISOCELL HM6, which is a 1/1.67” sensor. But this camera cannot take 8K video and no advanced features found on the 12T Pro.

The rest of the cameras are exactly the same as the 12T Pro. Even though this phone is using a different processor, Xiaomi claims the 12T can be charged to 100% in just 19 minutes, and you can use it for up to 13.5 hours of screen-on time. It also comes included with a 120W fast-charging brick.

The Xiaomi 12T series is running MIUI 13 based on Android 12. The company promised the phones will be getting three Android OS updates and four years of security patches.
