The giant semiconductor company just announced the Ryzen 7000 Series processors on 30 August, 2022. Now, almost a month later, it has reached our shores. So, if you have been waiting for it to build a new PC, you can finally start doing so. If you want to learn more about the new AMD Ryzen CPUs, you can read our article about it.

All four Ryzen processors, from Ryzen 5 7600X to the top-of-the-line Ryzen 9 7950X are available for purchase right now.
If you are upgrading from the Ryzen 5000 series or below, remember that you need to get a new motherboard because AMD changed from using pin grid array (PGA) to land grid array (LGA), so older motherboards are not compatible. We took a quick look at Shopee and we found the cheapest motherboard you can buy right now, which is an X670 motherboard, and it cost RM1,438 (at the time of writing). Cheaper B650 motherboards will be released later.
Also, you need to get a new set of memory sticks because these new processors only support DDR5 RAM. At the time of writing, the cheapest DDR5 RAM available costs RM207 for an 8GB 4800Mhz on Shopee.
If you have an AM4 cooler, you can keep using it, but you might want to check with the manufacturer whether the mounting bracket supports AM5.
