If you are into smartphones, you have probably heard of OnePlus. At first, the company started offering phones with premium specs at affordable prices, and they were known as the “flagship killers”. However, as the company grew in size, it was no longer possible to offer flagship specs at mid-range prices. Perhaps they are trying to go back to that time by offering this phone with flagship performance that is priced competitively.

The OnePlus 10T 5G is packing the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, the fastest available RAM for smartphones currently and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. No expendable micro SD slot unfortunately, but you do get 2 SIM card slots.

To keep the phone running, under hood there is a 4,800mAh battery with support for 150W SUPERVOOC fast charging that can charge the phone from 1 – 100% in just 19 minutes according to OnePlus. Also, the 10T 5G is populated with 15 antennas to provide users with stronger Wi-Fi and mobile signals so they can stay connected no matter how they hold their phone and where they are.

The premium smartphone has an incredible 6.7-inch Fluid AMOLED screen with 10-bit colour support and HDR10+ with 120Hz refresh rate.

The 10T 5G has a triple cameras setup on the back. One 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), one 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro camera. There’s also a 16MP selfie camera for your social media needs.

The phone comes out of the box with OxygenOS 12.1 (Android 12) and will be receiving OxygenOS 13 (Android 13) later this year. OxygenOS 13 is delivering a new design based on water. They called it the “Aquamorphic” design, and the company promises more features will be coming in the new OS update.

If you are worry about software support, OnePlus says the phone will receive three major Android updates alongside four years of security updates.

OnePlus 10T 5G will be available in Jade Green and Moonstone Black and OnePlus didn’t say which configuration of RAM and storage will be available in Malaysia.

Take My Money Now

Hang on to your money as the company has yet to release the pricing for Malaysia. But in the United States, the phone starts from 649USD for 8GB + 128GB of storage, so you can roughly estimate how much it will cost when it lands here.

The company says they will announce the price on 18 August and you can get yours starting 1 September.

We have the phone in the house, so stay tuned to our first impression of the phone soon and a review not too long after that.
