Recently, POCO released the POCO F4 GT here and it was powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Now they are bringing two more phones, less powerful but still fast enough for gaming and daily use.
First up, the more powerful of the two phones, POCO X4 GT packs MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chipset with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. To keep the phone cool while you’re gaming, POCO implemented LiquidCool Technology 2.0 cooling system which features a large vapour chamber and seven layers of graphite.
The display is a flat 6.6 inch LCD FHD+ resolution, up to 144Hz refresh rate, 270Hz touch sampling rate, Dolby Vision support, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Additionally, it has two speakers with Dolby Atmos enhancement, a fingerprint reader positioned on the side, a USB-C connector for charging and data transfer, and a 3.5mm headphone jack on top. The phone is available in Black, Blue, and Silver as far as colour options go.
For connectivity, the phone supports NFC, WiFi 6, and Bluetooth 5.3. It comes with a huge 5,080mAh battery with 67W quick charging capability. The battery can be topped off to 25% capacity in just 6 minutes, according to POCO, while a full charge only needs 46 minutes.
The phone has three cameras: a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. On the other hand, a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies and video conferencing is housed within the punch-hole cutout on its display.
The phone will be sold only through the brand’s official Lazada shop on 30 June 2022, for an early bird price of RM1399 for the 8GB + 128GB version and RM1499 for the 8GB + 256GB while supplies last. The phone will sell for RM1499 and RM1599 if you miss this deal.
The least powerful of the lineup, POCO F4 is more of an incremental update to the previous POCO F3. It packs the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, includes a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 360Hz. The Full HD+ display, which is shielded by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5, can also support HDR10+ and Dolby Vision content.
A 4500mAh battery keeps the phone running and a fast charger that can output up to 67W of power. The 67W charger that the manufacturer included with the phone enables it to be fully charged in just 38 minutes.
The camera setup is different from POCO F3. Here it comes with a a 64MP main camera with an f/1.79 aperture and optical image stabilisation (OIS), reportedly a first for a POCO phone. There is a 20MP f/2.45 front facing camera in addition to an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera and a 2MP f/2.4 macro camera in the rear camera module.
For RM1599, you can purchase the F4 with 6GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB UFS3.1 internal storage. You may also get the model with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage for RM1699 if you desire more memory and storage space.
The phone will, however, be made available in Malaysia on 27 June at an early bird price of RM1499 and RM1599, respectively. This promotion is only obtainable through POCO’s own Shopee store and only while supplies last.
