Acer has announced an array of Vero devices which includes new Vero laptops, an AIO desktop, monitors, projector, and peripherals.
A percentage of each device is built using PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) plastic, OBP (Ocean-bound Plastic), and recyclable packaging.
The PCs in this line are also designed to be easy to disassemble for repairs and upgrades.
Aspire Vero Laptops
The two entries in this category are the 14in Aspire Vero (AV14-51) and the 15in Aspire Vero (AV15-52).
The 14in Aspire Vero has a Full HD display driven by the Intel Iris Xe graphics, a 12th Gen Intel Core processor, and comes in Cobblestone Grey or Mariana Blue.
There are three ports built-in, one Thunderbolt 4/USB Type-C and two USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports.
The 15in Aspire Vero also shares everything the 14in version has except it also comes in Starry Black instead of Cobblestone Grey, and has a Full HD camera.
Both laptops meet the Intel Evo laptop requirements which mean they are tested for responsiveness, instant wake, battery life, fast charge and intelligent collaboration.
Both laptops also feature OceanGlass trackpads, chassis, bezel, and keycaps made from PCR plastics.
The packaging for the laptops is designed with 85% recycled paper and 100% industrial recycled plastic (PIR).
Acer Veriton Vero All-In-One
The 24in Veriton Vero all-in-one desktop computer (VVZ4694G) has a Full HD IPS display, an 88% screen-to-body ratio, and can be VESA mounted.
It is built with 30% post-consumer recycled material and comes with a keyboard and mouse also made of PCR material.
The packaging is 100% recyclable and the screwless back cover can be easily removed for upgrades or repairs.
Inside is a 12th Gen Intel Core processor, discrete NVIDIA GeForce MX550 GPU, and up to 64 GB of dual-channel DDR4 3200 MHz memory.
For communications and productivity, there’s Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) and two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports.
There are also two M.2 SSDs that support up to 2 TB of storage, BlueLightShield for the eyes, Windows Hello for logging in, Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 for security, Tobii Aware smart sensor for privacy, and a built-in 5 MP webcam.
Vero Monitors
There are two new IPS displays in this category, the 27-inch FHD Acer CB273 and the 23.8-inch FHD Acer B247Y G
Both are made of 85% PCR plastic and 5% ocean-bound plastic (OBP).
The Acer CB273 also comes with a KVM switch.
Vero PD2325W Projector
The Acer Vero PD2325W uses 50% PCR plastic in the chassis and 85% recycled paper packaging.
Its LED light source is rated for up to 30,000-hour This makes it not only more eco-friendly, but also reduces the total cost of ownership.
It has a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 2,200 lumens in brightness, and is capable of projecting WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution.
For ease of use, it has Auto Keystone Correction, can be ceiling mounted, and has an integrated 5W speaker.
Vero Mouse & Keyboard
Sold separately from the Veriton Vero, this pair of peripherals are made from PCR plastic and OBP.
The mouse is said to have an 18-month battery life while the keyboard is rated for 5 million clicks.
They come in charcoal grey with bright yellow accents or monochrome charcoal grey.
Pricing & Availability
There is no official Malaysian price and availability mentioned, but most of these products are slated to launch in other parts of the world in the later this year.
