ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) recently announced the at CES 2022 that it has managed to fit the performance of a gaming PC into a tablet. The result is what they called the the world’s most powerful gaming tablet.
ROG Flow Z13 gaming tablet is exactly what you’d imagine it would be, a tablet with the guts of a gaming laptop.
It Has The Power?
Inside is a 12th Gen Intel Core i9-12900H processor and an NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3050Ti LAPTOP GPU.
However it has 16GB of 5,200MHz LPDDR5 memory — which small but fast — and up to 1TB PCIe SSD storage.
For cool it all down the Flow Z13 has a “wider” vapor chamber with liquid metal thermal compound and “larger” fans that it claims never makes sounds louder than 40bB.
ASUS also claims that the gaming tablet can operate with the fans turned off.
All this is packed in tablet 1.2cm thick, 30.2cm wide, 20.4cm tall. and weighs 1.1kg.
It’s Just LIke A Laptop. But In Tablet FOrm
The cover for the Flow Z13 doubles as a keyboard with 1.7mm travel. With Bluetooth, it could also connect to wireless gaming controllers.
The selection of ports on the Flow Z13 is typical of what you’d see on a thin laptop:

- 1 x USB Type-C with Thunderbolt™ 4 with DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Delivery support .
- 1 x USB 2.0 Type-A.
- 1 x 3.5 mm combo audio jack.
- 1 x MicroSD card reader.
The xg mobile interface
Introduced in 2021, the XG Mobile interface is a plug-in dock designed to give compatible portable devices like the Flow Z13 extra desktop level power and ports.
For 2022, the XG Mobile comes with up to a GeForce RTX 3080 or Radeon RX 6850M XT. it also has dedicated DisplayPort and HDMI outputs, multiple USB ports and an Ethernet port.
Also Comes In A Convertible Form
Meanwhile, ASUS also announced the upgraded ROG Flow X13 gaming convertible — a touchscreen laptop with hinge that can be folded all the way.
It is now powered by an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti laptop GPU and comes with either a 4K 60 Hz or a 1080p 120 Hz touch screen display.
Of course, there’s a HDMI, USB Type-A, and Type-C ports on the side. It ids also compatible with the XG Mobile ecosystem.
