Sony’s State of Play is a semi-regular digital event, which previews the latest and greatest PlayStation news, updates, reveals and announcements.

In 2019, Sony has used the event to reveal The Last of Us 2 release date, debut gameplay footage for Ghost of Tsushima, and drop new trailers for games including Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Returnal.

So the answer to whether anyone should attend the event is definitely.

Sony has confirmed in a blog post that they are doing the next State of Play event on October 27 at 5:00 AM Malaysian Time.

They also confirmed that during this State of Play, Sony is going to feature announcements and updates into third-party games that will be coming to both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

The show is looking to be ~20 minutes or so, and will share new looks at previously announced games, plus a few reveals from our partners around the world.

As usual you can watch the broadcast of Sony’s State of Play on their YouTube or Twitch channels.

What to and not expect

Since this State of Play is about third-party games and updates, there should not be any expectations of Sony sneaking a preview of God Of War: Ragnarok or Horizon Forbidden West.

The event will last 20 minutes, so it is more likely that we’ll get smaller updates on confirmed upcoming titles such as Call of Duty: Vanguard, Battlefield 2042, Stray, Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker expansion or maybe even GTA 5 on PS5.
