redBus, a leading online bus ticketing platform, has launched natively within the Grab app in Malaysia as part of Grab’s Partner Apps ecosystem.

The integration enables users to browse, compare and book bus and ferry journeys directly within the Grab app in Malaysia and Singapore, without the need for a separate download or account. Grab’s Partner App Program allows partner services to be accessed directly within the Grab app, enabling users to complete transactions without switching to a separate application. The integration gives Grab users in Malaysia direct access to redBus’ bus and ferry booking services.

By embedding redBus as a Partner App within Grab, the collaboration delivers a fully integrated booking journey that mirrors how users already access other everyday services on the platform. Commuters can plan end-to-end trips, from discovery to payment, within a single, familiar interface, leveraging secure checkouts via GrabPay while earning GrabRewards points on every eligible transaction.

A key feature of the integration is that users can book both intercity bus and regional ferry services through the same in-app experience, making it easier to plan domestic and cross-border journeys.

Key Benefits Of The redBus–Grab Partnership

  • Search, compare and book intercity buses and regional ferries directly within the Grab app, with access to more than 200 operators across Malaysia and Singapore.
  • Enjoy a seamless experience without additional app downloads or separate logins.
  • Pay securely using GrabPay and earn GrabRewards points on eligible bookings.
  • Plan domestic journeys, high-volume Malaysia–Singapore cross-border routes, and ferry trips between Malaysia and Indonesia in one place.
  • Benefit from a special 50% launch offer on eligible redBus bookings made via the Grab Partner App Program during the promotional period.

This integration aligns with the growing preference among Southeast Asian consumers for seamless, in-app experiences, as mobility, payments and travel services increasingly converge within trusted digital ecosystems. By combining Grab’s extensive consumer ecosystem with redBus’ intercity mobility network, the partnership creates a more connected travel experience while strengthening key regional corridors such as Malaysia–Singapore and Malaysia–Indonesia ferry routes.

The Malaysia launch follows the earlier integration within Grab Singapore’s Partner Apps, where users responded positively to the convenience of booking bus tickets directly within the Grab app.

Krishnan Ramaswami, redBus Chief Business Officer, said, “Customers increasingly expect travel services to be accessible within the digital platforms they already use. Our partnership with Grab reflects a shared vision of simplifying mobility by bringing travel services into the digital ecosystems customers already trust and use every day.

“We are reducing friction in the travel planning journey and making intercity and cross-border travel more discoverable, accessible and convenient. This collaboration brings intercity bus and ferry booking into the Grab app for users in Malaysia.”

To drive awareness and adoption, redBus and Grab Malaysia are rolling out a coordinated series of launch and growth initiatives. During the promotional period, users can enjoy a 50% launch offer on eligible redBus bookings made via the Grab app, alongside exclusive embedded incentives tailored for GrabUnlimited subscribers and Grab Travel Pass holders. These initiatives are available during the promotional period for eligible bookings made through the Grab app.

Users can access the redBus booking experience by opening the Grab app on iOS or Android and selecting the Bus & Ferry icon on the Grab app.
