Apple Music and TikTok today announced Play Full Song, a new music discovery experience designed to make it easier for fans to engage with the music they discover on TikTok. Launching exclusively through Apple Music, the feature allows Apple Music subscribers to listen to full-length tracks discovered on TikTok without leaving the app.
Music discovery has long been central to TikTok’s platform. With Play Full Song, fans who discover a track on their For You Page or Sound Detail Page can tap the Play Full Song button to open an Apple Music player and listen to the full track. From there, Apple Music subscribers can continue listening to a personalised stream of recommended songs.
The new experience enables fans to move seamlessly from discovery to deeper listening within the same environment. Users can also save favourite songs to Your Music and add them directly to Apple Music playlists, making it easier to revisit tracks later.
Built using Apple’s MusicKit, full-length playback takes place within Apple Music, meaning streams are counted within the Apple Music service. This ensures artists and rights holders are compensated while maintaining a smooth listening experience for fans.
The feature builds on TikTok’s Add to Music App, which previously enabled users to save discovered songs to Apple Music and other streaming platforms. Play Full Song extends this experience by allowing immediate full-length listening alongside playlist saves.

This integration makes it easier for fans to discover, listen to and engage with the artists they love, while also creating a powerful pathway for artists to turn moments of discovery into deeper connections.”
TikTok and Apple Music are also introducing Listening Party, a feature designed to bring artists and fans together around music. Listening Party creates a shared environment where fans can listen to songs from their favourite artists in real time, interact with each other and engage directly with the artist during the session.

Together, these features create a complete music journey for Apple Music subscribers on TikTok — from discovery, to full-length listening, to shared fan experiences.
Play Full Song and Listening Party are rolling out worldwide over the coming weeks.
