Yang Berhormat Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital, today shared Malaysia’s vision for resilience and digital trust during a Fireside Chat session at the Cyber Digital Services, Defence and Security Asia (CyberDSA) 2025, held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur.
Themed “Towards Building a Resilient and Trusted Digital Nation”, the dialogue reaffirmed the government’s commitment to embedding digital trust as the foundation for Malaysia’s transformation into a globally competitive digital economy. The session was moderated by Izham Khairuddin, Head of Transformation at CyberSecurity Malaysia.
In his remarks, the Minister emphasised that digital trust is the invisible infrastructure of the nation’s future — essential for economic growth, innovation, and citizen well-being. He highlighted the government’s integrated approach, aligning policies such as the AI Nation Roadmap, the National Cloud Policy, and strengthened data governance frameworks as key building blocks of the forthcoming National Digital Trust and Data Safety Strategy.
“Our goal is to create a fearless digital Malaysia where every citizen — whether a small business owner, student, or senior citizen — can participate in the digital economy with confidence. Trust must be the national default setting,” said Minister Gobind Singh Deo.
The session also highlighted the evolving role of CyberSecurity Malaysia as a strategic enabler. Moving beyond its role as a technical guardian, the agency is now positioned as the anchor of Malaysia’s digital trust ecosystem — guiding innovation, embedding security into national initiatives, and fostering public confidence in digital systems and services.
CyberDSA 2025, themed “Pioneering the Future: Building a Resilient and Trusted Digital Nation”, serves as a leading regional platform to showcase the latest cybersecurity, defence, and digital trust advancements. The event brings together senior government officials, global industry leaders, and regional experts to exchange knowledge and chart the future of a secure and trusted digital society.
The Fireside Chat concluded with a call to action for public and private sector leaders to embrace a mindset shift — treating data not merely as an asset, but as a sacred trust to be safeguarded responsibly. The Minister emphasised that digital trust is not only a policy priority but a shared national responsibility that will define Malaysia’s competitiveness and security in the decades ahead.
