Despite its advantages, adoption has been slow due to challenges linked to standardisation and cost.

More than half of respondents (54%) believe it is already possible—or soon achievable—to design systems capable of withstanding cyberattacks without additional defences. Another 39% say it might be possible, showing growing openness to the idea. This reflects a broader trend: reactive security is no longer sufficient. With AI-powered threats and increasingly sophisticated attacks, organisations need systems that prevent breaches by design.
