OPPO, the world’s leading smart device brand, has announced the OPPO Find X8 Ultra, its latest flagship device and the ultimate camera phone.

“Find X8 Ultra represents OPPO’s pinnacle of mobile imaging innovation. With OPPO’s Next-Gen Penta Camera System and HyperTone Image Engine, developed in close collaboration with Hasselblad, it sets a new benchmark for smartphone camera capabilities,” said Pete Lau, SVP and Chief Product Officer, OPPO.

Building upon the exceptional camera setup of the Find X7 Ultra, the Find X8 Ultra debuts OPPO’s Next-Gen Penta Camera System co-developed with Hasselblad. The rear camera array includes a 50MP ultra-wide camera, a 50MP wide camera with a 1-inch sensor, two 50MP periscope telephoto cameras, and a unique True Chroma Camera for highly accurate colour reproduction.

The Find X8 Ultra continues to utilise the Sony LYT-900 1-inch sensor — the largest and most advanced in any smartphone. It features an enhanced 8-element lens, incorporating a high refractive index glass element to reduce chromatic aberration. Combined with a bright f/1.8 aperture and OPPO’s in-house optical image stabilisation (OIS), the camera delivers results on par with premium compact cameras.

The 50MP 3x periscope telephoto camera features a larger Sony LYT-700 sensor (1/1.56-inch), a faster f/2.1 aperture, and OPPO’s exclusive “Super Blue Glass” to minimise glare and ghosting. It captures over 400% more light than its closest competitor. A floating lens enables a minimum focus distance of just 10cm, unlocking new telemacro photography possibilities.

The 6x periscope telephoto camera introduces OPPO’s exclusive Triple Prism Periscope structure and a larger 1/1.95-inch Sony LYT-600 sensor with a fast f/3.1 aperture, delivering 151% more light intake for superior zoom clarity in low-light conditions.

The all-new True Chroma Camera complements the Find X8 Ultra’s imaging power. This 9-channel multispectral camera records colour temperature across a 6×8 grid with 2 million spectral pixels. It processes warm and cool tones separately for detailed and accurate colour reproduction, ensuring white balance that’s truer to life.

With four 50MP cameras covering focal lengths from 0.6x to 6x and AI-enhanced zoom, the Find X8 Ultra ensures consistent image quality and colour from ultra-wide to long-range. This brings the ‘Holy Trinity’ of camera lenses — ultra-wide, wide, and telephoto — to a smartphone for the first time.

Find X8 Ultra also introduces the Next-Gen HyperTone Image Engine, OPPO’s proprietary computational photography system. It improves depth and detail in demanding scenes, especially high-dynamic portraits. ProXDR enhancement boosts brightness and colour information, quadrupling image data. A new Hi-Res mode enables users to shoot in 25MP across all four rear cameras.

Hasselblad Portrait Mode returns with cinematic bokeh and precise subject detection, now with continuous zoom from 1x to 6x for flexible framing. Backed by the True Chroma Camera, night portraits retain ambience and natural skin tones, surpassing conventional cameras. Find X8 Ultra is the new master of night portrait photography.

Master Mode, first introduced in Find X7 Ultra and calibrated to emulate the Hasselblad X2D 100C, has been upgraded. It now offers 50MP JPEG MAX and RAW MAX outputs, auto Night Mode support, Focus Magnifier, Focus Peaking, and 15 built-in presets. Users can also create custom presets for a personalised shooting style.

Video recording capabilities are equally impressive. All four 50MP rear cameras and the front camera support 4K 60fps Dolby Vision. The 1x and 3x lenses can also record in 4K 120fps, offering smoother, slow-motion footage with professional-grade detail.

Despite all this power, Find X8 Ultra boasts a slim 8.78mm profile — the thinnest among ultra-level camera phones. It features a 6.82-inch flat QHD display with symmetrical bezels, IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance, and SGS five-star drop resistance certification for excellent durability.

Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite platform, the device includes up to 16GB of LPDDR5X-9600 RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage, ensuring smooth multitasking, gaming, and 4K editing with zero lag.

Its 6,100mAh (typ) OPPO Silicon-Carbon Battery supports a full day of creative use, and can be fully recharged in under 40 minutes with 100W SUPERVOOC™ fast charging. It also supports 50W AIRVOOC™ wireless charging.

Alongside Find X8 Ultra, OPPO introduced the Find X8s and Find X8s+ in China. Find X8s marks OPPO’s debut in the compact camera flagship segment with a 6.3-inch display and the world’s thinnest 1.25mm symmetrical bezels. It offers triple 50MP rear cameras and a 5,700mAh battery. The Find X8s+ is a refreshed version of the popular Find X8, featuring updated colour options and a 6,000mAh battery. Both phones use the new MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset and OPPO’s Trinity Engine for enhanced efficiency.

OPPO also unveiled two new flagship IoT devices: the OPPO Watch X2 Mini, a smaller 1.32-inch variant of the OPPO Watch X2, with a stainless steel case and 18K rose gold plating; and the OPPO Pad 4 Pro, a 13.2-inch tablet powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite platform.

The OPPO Find X8 Ultra is now available in China, with prices starting from RM5,199 (approx. USD1,099) depending on configuration.
