Driving Manufacturing Excellence with 4IR Technologies

As part of its commitment to advancing manufacturing excellence, HPMM launches the HP Malaysia Manufacturing Transformation Center in January 2025. This 4,639-square-foot facility is dedicated to researching and testing advanced Industry 4.0 technologies, such as robotics, automation, Industrial IoT, additive manufacturing, and predictive analytics, while also exploring the early stages of Industry 5.0 integration. The transformation center aims to create a highly digitised, efficient, and adaptable manufacturing ecosystem, leveraging advanced technologies to enhance productivity, quality, and operational excellence. These efforts underscore HP’s leadership in advanced manufacturing, positioning the organisation to meet the evolving demands of the global print supplies marketwhile driving sustainable innovation.

Empowering Malaysia’s Manufacturing Vision

HP’s innovation-driven manufacturing approach aligns with Malaysia’s vision for industrial growth. Through the HP SPARK Programme, launched in 2024, HP works closely with the Malaysian government and local educational institutions to nurture a highly skilled workforce for the future of advanced manufacturing.

The HP SPARK Programme focuses on skill development in criticalareas such as robotics, automation, data analytics, and sustainable manufacturing practices. By equipping employees with these capabilities, the programme empowers HPMM’s workforce to thrive in the evolving landscape of advanced manufacturing.

Leading Sustainability in Manufacturing

HP is deeply committed to sustainability, reflecting its efforts with Malaysia’s Roadmap Towards Zero Single-Use Plastics 2018–2030and other government policies promoting environmental stewardship. This alignment is reinforced by HP’s Global Sustainability Goals, which include achieving carbon neutrality, zero waste operations, and 75% reduction of single-use plastics by 2025.

Key contributions from HPMM:

– The HPMM facility is equipped with a solar photovoltaic array, rooftops and parking areas installation that reduce GHG emissions. The installation is expected to generate 2,720 MWh annually, covering approximately 6% of the facility’s electricity usage.

– HPMM has established a Zero Waste Operations Team, which has successfully diverted approximately 35,000 kg of waste from landfills annually.

–  HPMM achieved a Platinum-level score in the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Validated Assessment Program (VAP) audit, reflecting its adherence to high standards in labour practices, health and safety, and environmental compliance.
