Grab Malaysia recently paid tribute to the triumphant Malaysian Olympic and Paralympic contingent. These extraordinary individuals have etched their names in our nation’s history with their performance while inspiring millions of Malaysians.

In a heartfelt display of solidarity with our nation’s athletes, a mock cheque was presented to the victorious medallists, as a testament to their hard-fought achievements. The medallists were awarded with a year’s worth of free GrabFood, with gold, silver, and bronze medallists also receiving 1 million, 500,000, and 250,000 GrabRewards respectively. In addition, all 110 coaches and officials received a token of RM100 GrabFood voucher each.

Beyond celebrating the medallists, the event also brought together Grab’s Persons with Disabilities (PWD) partners for a heartfelt meet-and-greet with the athletes. This special interaction provided the PWD partners with the unique opportunity to engage with our national athletes, especially paralympians, whose stories of perseverance and determination mirror their own personal stories of overcoming adversity. Supporting the PWD community remains a key focus for Grab Malaysia, with over 3,100 PWDs across the region earning an income through the Grab platform.

Adelene Foo, Managing Director of Grab Malaysia, shared, “We are deeply honoured to present these rewards to our Malaysian athletes who have represented the nation with such pride at the Paris Olympics and Paralympics. Their remarkable performances at the Paris Olympics and Paralympics have not only ignited a flame of inspiration in the hearts of Malaysians nationwide, but have also deeply touched our PWD partners. In the athletes’ awe-inspiring tales of unyielding resilience, our partners find a powerful source of strength and motivation. And we couldn’t be prouder to support them in their success. .”

For Abdul Halim Hapiz, a Grab driver-partner, this event held special significance. “It was a great privilege to meet these athletes and hear their stories. Their perseverance reminds us that no matter the obstacles, we can all strive for success and make our country proud.”

Through this event, Grab Malaysia reaffirms its commitment to supporting communities across Malaysia, including both its partners and the nation’s athletes. By championing initiatives like this, Grab Malaysia aims to continue driving the nation forward while helping Malaysians achieve their dreams.
