Solar District Cooling Group Berhad (“SDCG”) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a collaboration agreement with Sunrise Shares Energy Sdn Bhd (“SSE”), a company involved in renewable energy products and solutions. This partnership aims to promote the adoption of renewable energy solutions and sustainability advisory services across multiple sectors in Malaysia.

SDCG and its subsidiaries (“Group”) are primarily involved in the provision and maintenance of BMS, solar thermal systems, and energy-saving services. The Group has a proven track record of enhancing energy efficiency across the healthcare, hospitality, and industrial sectors. SDCG Group is involved in providing energy performance services to the concession companies that are delivering hospital support services for public hospitals. The concessionaires engaged SDCG Group as a subcontractor to carry out energy efficiency work related to the installation of hybrid solar thermal hot water systems, which sometimes also includes retrofitting fluorescent lighting with LED lighting.

The collaboration will see both companies jointly offering energy solutions to their respective clients. SDCG will leverage its expertise in Building Management Systems (BMS), solar thermal systems, and energy efficiency services, while SSE will promote its portfolio of commercial solar panels, solar-powered streetlights, and battery energy storage systems. Together, the two companies will work to provide clients with complete solutions for enhancing energy efficiency, reducing operational costs, and achieving sustainability goals.

Under this agreement, both companies will also offer joint sustainability advisory services, helping clients obtain green building certifications and low-carbon certifications, as well as promoting sustainable development strategies. This collaboration will enable both companies to explore new business opportunities through joint ventures, co-marketing initiatives, and other strategic partnerships.

Managing Director of SDCG, Mr. Edison Kong, commented, “We are delighted to partner with Sunrise Shares Energy Sdn Bhd to drive the adoption of renewable energy and sustainable practices in Malaysia. This partnership allows us to combine our strengths and offer energy solutions that can help our clients achieve their energy efficiency and sustainability goals. Together, we aim to make a significant contribution to the country’s transition towards a greener economy.”

Director of SSE, Mr. Matt Tan, added, “This collaboration presents an exciting opportunity to expand our reach and capabilities in the renewable energy market. By working with SDCG, we can deliver a wider range of energy solutions to our clients, ensuring that they benefit from both advanced renewable energy products and energy-efficient systems.”

On the eve of its listing, SDCG secured two contracts worth RM8.13 million from Mitrajaya Construction Sdn Bhd for works on Avisena Healthcare’s 11-storey hospital in Shah Alam, expected to be completed by May 2027.

This strategic collaboration and the secured projects reflect the growing demand for sustainable energy and energy efficiency solutions in Malaysia, with both companies committed to providing innovative, efficient, and cost-effective solutions to meet the market’s needs.
