Maxis Berhad, Malaysia’s leading integrated telecommunications company, will offer cloud-based graphics processing units-as-a-service (GPUaaS) to Malaysian customers. As part of Maxis Business’ cloud and managed services portfolio, GPUaaS provides businesses with easy access to powerful graphics processing units (GPUs) for advanced artificial intelligence (AI) training and inferencing applications.
Maxis Berhad’s GPUaaS is a cost-effective way for customers to quickly deploy high-performance capabilities essential for intensive processing workloads such as AI, machine learning, and deep learning. GPUaaS eliminates the need for businesses to invest in costly GPU hardware or maintain complex infrastructure. At launch, the service will be powered by NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPU-powered clusters. Through this solution, Maxis Berhad will also be among the world’s first telecommunications companies to offer services deployed using NVIDIA’s next-generation GB200 Grace Blackwell Superchips.
With scalable computing power available on-demand through GPUaaS, customers can allocate more time and resources to their core business activities and accelerate their development of Generative AI, large language models, and AI workloads. This offering caters to the growing demand among early adopters across industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, and logistics. Customers can accelerate growth and innovation by accessing GPU clusters through existing fixed or 5G mobile connections.
Goh Seow Eng, Chief Executive Officer of Maxis Berhad, said: “We are pleased to be the first telecommunications company in Malaysia to provide GPUaaS, enabling high-performance computing and data processing on-demand. Businesses will have the flexibility to scale their resources when needed for more complex workloads such as AI, machine learning, 3D modelling, and large-scale analytics. As Malaysia’s leading integrated telecommunications company, we will continue to make it simpler for customers to leverage the best of connectivity and digital solutions, so they can focus on growing their business.”
Singtel and Bridge Alliance, a leading mobile alliance of 35 member operators worldwide, recently announced a strategic partnership that brings Singtel’s GPUaaS offerings to enterprises across the region. Maxis Berhad, as a Bridge Alliance member operator, has made the strategic decision to leverage Singtel’s offering, which complements its own extensive cloud and connectivity solutions, enabling customers to obtain solutions needed to meet their organisational needs.
