Shopee shoppers in Malaysia can now pay with TNG eWallet, sort of. It went live 11 August, and it works, but not the way you’d expect from a feature this long-requested.
It’s A QR Code Workaround, Not A Real Integration
Shopee’s payment page still lists Touch ‘n Go and Boost as unsupported. Nothing changed there. What actually happened is TNG eWallet gained the ability to pay through DuitNow QR, Malaysia’s national QR standard, which Shopee already supported as a generic payment option. TNG users get in through that side door instead of a dedicated button.
You’ll need TNG eWallet version 1.9.9 or above for this to work at all, so check for an update before assuming the feature’s broken.
How To Actually Use It
At checkout, select DuitNow QR under Other Payment Methods. Shopee generates a QR code on screen. From there, two paths, screenshot the code and share it directly into TNG eWallet, or open TNG eWallet separately and use its Universal Scan feature to capture the code straight off your screen. Either way, TNG eWallet displays the amount and shows Shopee Marketplace as the merchant before you confirm.

Cashback Exists, With A Catch That’ll Trip People Up
TNG’s Shop & Earn feature offers 1% cashback on eligible Shopee purchases, capped at RM6.67 per order. The catch, and it’s an easy one to miss, you have to enter Shopee through the Shop & Earn page inside TNG eWallet before shopping, not just pay with DuitNow QR at checkout. Skip that step and the cashback doesn’t track, regardless of which payment method you used.
Tracking takes up to two days, confirmation up to fourteen. A long list of exclusions applies too, digital goods, telco and utility payments, vouchers, travel, donations, cinema and event tickets, local services, investments, and ShopeePay Near Me transactions all sit outside the cashback programme. Shopee LIVE purchases, streaming-priced items, and anything bought with a promo code not listed on the Shop & Earn platform are excluded as well. Fees, taxes, service charges, and shipping never count toward the cashback regardless of the purchase itself. The promotion runs until 31 December 2026, per TNG Digital.
Beyond this new DuitNow QR route, Shopee’s existing payment options include its own SPay wallet, cash at physical stores, cash-on-delivery, credit and debit cards, online banking, Google Pay, and Apple Pay. Online banking covers Maybank, CIMB, RHB, Public Bank, Hong Leong, HSBC, Bank Islam, Bank Rakyat, OCBC and UOB, among others. Instalment payments work through eligible credit cards, and Shopee’s own SPayLater buy-now-pay-later option remains available for qualifying users.
