Tesla returns to Pavilion Kuala Lumpur for the second time following last year’s debut of Model Y.
This time, Tesla is not just showcasing the Model 3 and Model Y electric vehicles (EV), they also brought along the Tesla Optimus Robot for an exclusive display and for the first time in Malaysia.
The Tesla Bot also known as Optimus, is a general-purpose humanoid robot designed to undertake tasks that are repetitive, boring, or dangerous for humans.
The robot was announced at the company’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Day event on August 2021.
The design of Tesla Bot is inspired by human form which enables it to manipulate human tools, carry objects and work in factories.
The planned specification for the robot is 173 cm tall, weigh 57 kg, and have a carrying capacity of 20 kg.
Tesla said the robot uses the same AI technology as Tesla vehicles, allowing it to navigate the world safely and efficiently.
According to the photo, the robot on display seems to be from the first generation, while the video below shows what the second generation of Optimus looks like.
The robot and the EVs will be on display from 6 to 11 August 2024, from 10am to 10pm, at the Centre Court of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.
