Samsung just announced the release of its highly anticipated foldables: Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6 at the Galaxy Unpacked event in Paris, France.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor powers both phones and both comes with 12GB RAM and options for either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage, with the Z Fold6 also offering a 1TB variant. Neither phone supports expandable storage.
The Z Fold6 features a 6.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED cover display with a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate, while the Z Flip 6’s outer Super AMOLED display is 3.4-inch with a 60Hz refresh rate.
When opened, the Z Fold6’s internal display measures 7.6-inch, and the Z Flip6’s internal display measures 6.7-inch. Both internal Dynamic AMOLED displays support a 1-120Hz refresh rate.
For rear cameras, the Z Fold6 includes a 50MP wide, 12MP ultrawide, and 10MP 3x telephoto camera.
The Z Fold6 has a 4MP inner under-display selfie camera and a 10MP cover selfie camera. The Z Fold6 camera setup is exactly the same as Z Fold5.
The Z Flip6 features a 50MP wide (an upgrade over Z Flip5’s 12MP), 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP selfie camera.
The Z Fold6 has a 4,400mAh battery (same as Z Fold5), and the Z Flip6 has a 4,000mAh battery (an upgrade over Z Flip5’s 3,700mAh). Both devices support 25-watt USB-C charging and can recharge wirelessly.
Both phones are running on Android 14 (OneUI 6.1.1) out of the box, and come with seven years of software and security updates.
Pricing and Availability
The Galaxy Z Fold6 with 12+256GB of storage costs RM7,299, followed by the 512GB model for RM7,899. The most expensive variant is the 1TB model, which costs RM9,099.
For comparison, Galaxy Z Fold5 256GB was priced at RM6,799, 512GB was RM7,299, and 1TB was RM8,299.
The Galaxy Z Flip6 with 12GB+256GB configuration is priced at RM4,999, while the 12GB+512GB is at RM5,599.
The Galaxy Z Flip5 costs RM4,499 at launch for 256GB, and RM4,999 for 512GB.
The Galaxy Z Fold6 is available in Silver Shadow, Pink and Navy, while Galaxy Z Flip6 is also available in Silver Shadow, Yellow, Blue and Mint colour options.
Both phones are available for pre-order now and they will be available for purchase starting 24 July 2024.
