Tesla Debuts In Penang, Cybertruck On Display At Gurney Plaza

Between 21 and 30 June, visitors will have the opportunity to test drive the Model 3 and Model Y, as well as experience the Cybertruck up close.

Tesla, the renowned electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has officially made its debut in Penang, Malaysia. The launch event featured the latest additions to Tesla’s lineup: the Model 3 Performance, Model Y, and the futuristic Cybertruck.

This move marks a significant milestone as Tesla aims to capture the attention of the northern states of Malaysia.

The company has revealed plans to establish a dedicated after-sales service location in Penang, ensuring that Tesla owners receive top-notch support and maintenance.

During the launch event, the public had the opportunity to test drive the Model 3 and Model Y, immersing themselves in Tesla’s cutting-edge EV technology. Tesla is showcasing these vehicles from 21 June to 30 June 2024.

The Cybertruck, Tesla’s bold electric pickup truck also make an appearance at the event. From 22 June to 30 June 2024, visitors could get up close and personal with this futuristic vehicle.

With its angular design, robust construction, and electric powertrain, the Cybertruck promises to revolutionise the pickup truck segment.

Tesla also said they are committed to charging network development in Penang. Currently, the company operates three charging sites in the region:

  1. The Ship Campus
  2. All Seasons Place
  3. Sunway Carnival

These locations provide a total of 12 destination chargers (wall connectors) and four V3 superchargers.

Penang’s first V4 Supercharging Station

Tesla also announced the installation of Penang’s first V4 Supercharging station at Gurney Plaza. This high-speed charging station will further enhance the convenience for Tesla drivers, allowing them to recharge their vehicles rapidly.
