Malaysia’s climate is hot and humid, with temperatures soaring up to 38.4 degrees Celsius! Ideally, one would spend the entire day in the comfort of air-conditioned offices or homes.
However, the reality is that many of us have to endure the blistering sun and oppressive heat, which leaves one longing for a personal air conditioning device. To try and help alleviate this situation, Sony has developed a solution.
The Japanese tech company recently released a wearable cooling and warming device called the “Reon Pocket 5” in Malaysia.
Sony claims this device, designed to be worn at the back of your neck, can make you feel cooler under the heat.
This device has an enlarged thermo-module and a structured heat dissipation fan, producing the “Peltier effect” to cool or warm your body.
The Peltier effect is a thermoelectric phenomenon where heating or cooling occurs at an electrified junction of two different conductors.
When electric current flows through the junction of two distinct materials, heat is absorbed at one junction (cooling effect) and released at the other junction (heating effect).
You can get the Reon Pocket 5 for just RM799 over at Sony Store’s website. Alongside the device, you can also purchase optional accessories, such as a case to store and carry the device, a temperature and humidity sensor tag, a USB cable, and air vent covers.
