Maybank has announced that from 30 June 2024, updates for the Maybank2u app will be discontinued, and it will be withdrawn from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei AppGallery. The app was launched in September 2014.

The bank recommends transitioning to the MAE app, launched in October 2020, providing all the predecessor’s features, a wider array of banking and lifestyle functions, and improved security measures.

Maybank stated that the discontinuation of the Maybank2u app is a step towards enhancing the online banking experience through the MAE platform.

Customers will still be able to access their accounts via the Maybank2u app if it is already installed on their devices. However, it is important to note that the app will not receive any updates after the end of the month.

Maybank assures that the removal of the Maybank2u app from app stores will not disrupt online banking services. Customers can continue transactions via the MAE app or the Maybank2u website. They are also advised to download the MAE app only from official app stores to avoid security risks like malware and scams.

If you face any issues transitioning to the new app, you can email: mgcc@maybank.com or contact: 1-300-88-6688 (Malaysia) or +603-7844 3696 (Overseas).
