MYNIC Bhd, the agency responsible for managing, administering, and promoting the use of the .my domain both domestically in Malaysia and internationally, intends to focus on engaging more Malaysians, particularly entrepreneurs, to adopt the domain for the expansion of their business activities.
Bernama reported that according to MYNIC’s chief executive officer, Datuk Hasnul Fadhly Hasan, the current user base for the domain stands at 313,000, falling short of the targeted 400,000 users for the year. Among these users, approximately 150,000 are companies, while the remainder comprises individuals and small-scale operations.
“We hope more people will use the domain for their businesses, as we will assist them to boost their income by at least 30% within three months, just by shifting from offline to online business,” he expressed.
Hasnul also disclosed MYNIC’s ongoing collaboration with various agencies such as the National Entrepreneurial Group Economic Fund (Tekun) to facilitate training opportunities for those keen on leveraging the domain to unlock their business potential.
Additionally, MYNIC will unveil a special program on 1 May, designed to provide added benefits to purchasers of domain names, he further elaborated.
