OnePlus is introducing its version of generative AI called “AI Eraser” this month for select OnePlus devices, with plans for additional features later in the year.
In a recent press statement, OnePlus disclosed that “AI Eraser” will be available on specific devices such as the 12 and 12R starting this month. This functionality utilises generative AI to seamlessly fill in the gaps when objects are removed from a photo.
Together with the news, the company also shared a sample photo of what the AI Eraser can do and stated that the feature will be integrated into the OnePlus Photos gallery app.
Samsung previously offered similar editing capabilities in its Galaxy AI suite for Galaxy devices.
Leveraging the power of artificial intelligence and a series of advanced algorithms, AI Eraser enables users to effortlessly select and remove unwanted objects within images from the Photo Gallery.
After the user highlights certain objects, such as pedestrians, trash, or imperfections in the image, the underlying AI analyses the selected area and automatically generates a replacement background that seamlessly blends into the surrounding environment while suiting the overall style of the image, resulting in flawless, picture-perfect images.

- OnePlus 12R
- OnePlus Open
- OnePlus 11
- OnePlus Nord CE 4
OnePlus also mentioned its intention to introduce additional AI features sometime this year. However, specific details regarding these forthcoming features have not been disclosed .
