The chief government security officer evaluates the integrity level of officers with data access through a security vetting process to ensure the integrity of the Central Database Hub (PADU) and prevent data leaks.
According to Deputy Economy Minister Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib, access to data in the system is restricted to appointed officers and limited to their respective roles as part of the standard operating procedures for managing the PADU system, according to Bernama.
She mentioned in the Dewan Negara that an independent group of experts, including academics and professionals with expertise in various fields, has been appointed to ensure the effectiveness of the PADU system’s security by providing checks and balances.
Additionally, the government’s decision to implement geofencing and restrict system access within the country has successfully reduced PADU’s security risks.
Regarding future plans, she stated that the government will proceed with phase two of PADU, focusing on determining target groups and subsidy mechanisms after the updating period ends on 31 March.
In the last week, the government aims to boost the updating of individual and household information, particularly in areas identified as at high risk of exclusion from receiving government assistance.
