GX Bank Bhd (GXBank), a provider of digital banking services led by Grab, has announced its ongoing implementation of DuitNow QR support to users in gradual phases, facilitating payments and transfers through QR codes.
Upon full deployment, users will be able to utilise the feature by selecting the “Scan QR” button on the application’s main screen, according to The Star.
This functionality permits users to initiate fund transfers and conduct payments by scanning DuitNow QR codes either through the app’s camera or by selecting an image from their device’s gallery.
Additionally, users have the option to display their own QR codes to receive transfers. Transactions executed via DuitNow QR will not qualify for the digital bank’s 1% unlimited cashback bonus.
The default daily limit for QR payments within the application is established at RM1,000, with the possibility of escalation to RM5,000. Meanwhile, peer-to-peer and bank transfers are initially set at RM5,000, extendable up to a maximum of RM50,000.
GXBank had previously initiated the issuance of a debit card to all users last month and is planning to introduce a referral program in April.
