The Road Transport Department (JPJ) is improving security and adding user-friendly features to its MyJPJ application and public portal.
It’s reported that the newly updated app can be accessed in stages based on the respective phone’s operating system (Android, iOS or Huawei/HarmonyOS).
JPJ’s director-general Datuk Zailani Hashim was quoted by Bernama saying that among the improvements include the introduction of a new security feature using the last eight characters on the back of the driver’s license for online JPJeID registrations.
It’s an addition to the existing two levels of security which are passwords and TAC codes.
We also added the function to retrieve the user account through the last eight characters of the driver’s license. This is a solution for the ‘registered’ issue faced by users due to them previously having an account with a JPJ strategic partner portal that is integrated with the JPJ system.

JPJ also added an ’email reset’ function for users who forgot to use their email or need to update their email with the eight driving license characters.
The road transport department says that improvements were added after receiving various responses from the public regarding the use of the MyJPJ application and the JPJ public portal, following the introduction of the Digital Motor Vehicle License (e-LKM) and the Digital Malaysian Driving License (e-LMM).
They also said that to ensure that MyJPJ is secure, the Ministry of Transport is also working with the Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD).
