The London-based technology company Nothing has confirmed the name of its new smartphone, Phone (2a). The name announcement came as a part of Nothing’s latest quarterly Community Update.
Akis Evangelidis, co-founder and marketing lead of Nothing, outlined the primary focuses for the device as performance, camera, and software. He also assured that Phone (2a) represents a “clear upgrade compared to Phone (1) on every single front”.
The company stated that Phone (2a), codenamed Aerodactyl, will incorporate some of the well-received features from Phone (2).
According to the latest leak, Phone (2a) is expected to feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
It will be powered by the Dimensity 7200 chipset, coupled with 8/12GB RAM and 128/256GB storage. The rear of Phone 2a is expected to house a dual 50MP camera setup, and rumours suggest a launch price in the USD400 (~RM1,892) range.
Besides that, the company shared that it’s launching Glyph Developer Kit, which gives 3rd party Android apps the ability to control the Glyph Interface, Nothing’s most iconic feature.
