CelcomDigi Bhd has teamed up with Japanese technology giant, SoftBank Corp and Sumitomo’s subsidiary SC-NEX, to expedite the digitisation of Malaysian enterprises embracing Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0) solutions.
This partnership involves CelcomDigi harnessing the expertise of both companies in artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and analytical solutions to accelerate digital transformation, according to The Star.
The collaboration aims to focus on Agritech and smart city solutions, incorporating the use of drones and AI in agriculture and exploring advancements in building development and management.
After the signing of the memorandum of agreement (MoA), CelcomDigi’s CEO, Datuk Idham Nawawi, expressed the goal of providing Malaysian enterprises with quicker access to transformative technologies, unlocking their full business potential to stay competitive in the digital economy.
SoftBank’s Vice President and Global Business Division Head, Kimimasa Kudo, highlighted the bank’s contribution to sustainable industry growth in Malaysia through leading smart building solutions and cutting-edge robotics.
SC-NEX’s CEO, Jun Okawara, emphasised leveraging Sumitomo Corp’s innovative initiatives on a global scale, intending to enrich the lives of Malaysians through their collective knowledge and experiences.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil. SoftBank, a prominent Japanese telecommunications and IT corporation, is leading this collaborative effort alongside SC-NEX, specialising in digital transformation services.
