Maxis has partnered with Blueshark, a leading provider of smart scooters, and EV Connection Sdn. Bhd. (EVC), the operator of the JomCharge charging network, to expedite the adoption of e-mobility solutions.

At the E-Mobility Asia (EMA) 2023 event, Maxis formalised Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Blueshark and EVC. Notably, Maxis serves as the official smart mobility solution provider for the inaugural EMA, held in Kuala Lumpur from 22 to 24 November.

The ceremony, witnessed by YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of Investment, Trade & Industry, Malaysia, marked the initiation of collaborative efforts.

According to Maxis press release, Maxis will deliver 4G and 5G network connectivity solutions to support the e-mobility requirements of Blueshark and EVC concerning their electric vehicle (EV) assets and infrastructure.

Additionally, Maxis will collaborate with both entities to explore inventive digital solutions, expediting the integration of new technologies within the EV ecosystem.

As an initial step, Maxis will develop an environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) dashboard to enable Blueshark customers to measure and analyse their carbon footprint through electric scooters.

The dashboard will leverage Maxis’ end-to-end capabilities spanning cloud, data analytics, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Maxis’ 4G and 5G network will provide essential connectivity for Blueshark’s fleet, ensuring secure and reliable data collection for the dashboard with full Application Programming Interface (API) integration.

Maxis will also provide network connectivity to Blueshark’s battery swap stations, across Malaysia, to help them analyse and manage their battery inventory.
