GoPro just debuted its latest action camera, the Hero 12 Black, with some improvements over its predecessor, the Hero 11 Black.
The Hero 12 Black boasts its first improvement in the 5.3K60 recording mode, where it can shoot continuously for 70 minutes on a single charge, while the Hero 11 Black would only last 35 minutes with the same 1,720mAh battery capacity.

If you opt for the 5.3K30 mode, you can achieve a maximum runtime of 1.5 hours, and in 1080p30 mode, it extends to over 2.5 hours. The camera supports multiple resolutions, including 5.3K60, 4K120, and 2.7K240.
The second notable enhancement is the addition of Bluetooth support, enabling simultaneous audio recording via Bluetooth earbuds or headphones.
The third significant improvement centers around the Max Lens Mod 2.0, which expands the field-of-view from the standard 156-degrees to an impressive 177-degrees in 4K60 mode.

It also introduces support for HDR videos and photos, allowing for the capture of 27MP photos and 24.7MP stills from videos. Like its predecessor, the Hero 12 maintains its waterproof capability up to 10 meters.
With HyperSmooth 6.0 + AutoBoost, the camera provides the broadest possible shots while maintaining video stabilization. The built-in Horizon Lock ensures a level horizon even during a full 360-degree rotation (except in 5.3K60, 4K120, 2.7K240, and 1080p240 modes).
In addition to these improvements, GoPro is set to release a new 48-inch-long extension pole that collapses to 10 inches and a waterproof Bluetooth shutter remote in October, making it easier to control the Hero 12, even when the pole is extended.
Furthermore, GoPro’s Quik editing app will become available for Macs starting in November and for Windows PCs in the next summer, and it will be offered free to GoPro subscribers.
