Sony just announced last week that they will increase the price of yearly subscription fees for all three tiers of PlayStation Plus (PS Plus).

If you think that your short-term subscription to PS Plus is safe from price increases, think again.

Sony just announced that the 1-month and 3-month subscriptions for all three tiers of PS Plus are also getting a price hike.

  • PlayStation Plus Essential 1-Month Subscription
    RM 32
  • PlayStation Plus Extra 1-Month Subscription
    RM 49
  • PlayStation Plus Deluxe 1-Month Subscription
    RM 55
  • PlayStation Plus Essential 3-Month Subscription
    RM 75
  • PlayStation Plus Extra 3-Month Subscription
    RM 125
  • PlayStation Plus Deluxe 3-Month Subscription
    RM 145

Sony has refrained from specifying the commencement date of this price hike; however, it’s reasonable to assume that it will go into effect today, mirroring the timing of the annual subscription adjustments.

As to why Sony has decided to increase the prices, the company says this move will allow them to continue bringing high-quality games and value-added benefits to the PS Plus subscription service.
