The PS4 Pro is the first time Sony has launched a more powerful version of the same console, so fans are expecting Sony to do it again with the PS5.
According to a Reddit user, r/TheRealImAHeroToo, the person said that Square Enix, the famous studio behind the Final Fantasy series, has received new PS5 dev kits, which are allegedly the PS5 Pro. The person said “Square has new PS5 devkits; we’re assuming these are the “Pro” “.
We assume that if Sony were to release a new PS5 dev kit, it would most likely be intended for a Pro variant, given that it doesn’t appear plausible for Sony to invest in creating and distributing dev kits for minor updates to an existing console model.
Besides that, an X user, @GTAVInewz says that PS5 Pro will launch next year and there’s going to a bundle with Rockstar’s GTA 6.
The person also alleged that the PS5 Pro will be adding a 4K/60fps option with improved stability and 8K support.
Another X user, @TCMF2, reports that PS5 Pro is called Project Trinity, and it’s targeting consistent frame rates at 4K resolution.
The PS5 Pro will support “performance mode” for 8K resolution; this probably means upscaled 4K resolution to 8K and better ray tracing performance.
The person also added that Sony will be distributing the PS5 Pro dev kits to most game studios by November 2023, and the company is targeting November 2024 as the release month for the souped-up console.
As always, these are just rumours, so take them with a pinch of salt. One thing is for certain: the PS5 Slim will definitely be coming out soon.
