Users will have the option to commit to a monthly fee as low as RM60, guaranteeing a minimum of 60GB data. The initiative was inaugurated by Fahmi today, with eligibility extended to all Malaysians, according to The Star.

The first 100,000 individuals from the B40 income group will receive a subsidy of RM120 for the devices, providing essential support for their access to 5G technology. Fahmi underlined that this initiative aims to assist this particular demographic.

Moreover, the phones included in the 5G Rahmah package will be covered by a 24-month warranty period.

For media professionals registered with the Information Department, a special incentive is in place: a rebate equivalent to one month’s bill. Approximately 10,000 media practitioners stand to benefit from this arrangement.

Fahmi emphasised ongoing discussions with telecommunication companies to devise further media-friendly initiatives.

Civil servants using postpaid services will also get an additional incentive: a RM10 monthly rebate for both new and existing registrations, spanning a period of 12 months.
